As the summer season reaches its busiest stretch, four weekly outdoor markets across Hatteras Island are offering residents and visitors multiple opportunities to shop local while supporting island artists, farmers, craftspeople, and small businesses.

Avon Farmers Market — Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The longest-running of the group, the Avon Farmers Market, is held every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Avon and features local food producers, artists, crafters and makers from across the Outer Banks. The market returned for its 2026 season on May 26 and continues throughout the summer.

Tri-Villages Market — Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

On Wednesdays, the Tri-Villages Market brings dozens of vendors to Camp Hatteras in Waves. Now in its fourth year, the market is held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Oct. 14 and features local artists, food vendors, makers and small businesses from across the region.

Old Trent Market — Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Frisco’s Old Trent Market hosts weekly markets throughout the summer season, featuring local vendors, artisans, craftspeople and food offerings. The market has become a popular gathering spot for both residents and visitors looking for locally made goods and island-inspired products.

Pine Burr Market — Saturdays, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The newest addition is the Pine Burr Market in Hatteras Village, which launched this summer on the site of the historic Pine Burr property. Held every Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., the market was created to revive the longtime-gathering place while providing a new venue for local artists, makers and vendors.

Together, the four markets provide nearly daily opportunities throughout the week to shop locally and connect with Hatteras Island’s small business community during the peak summer visitor season.

All four markets will continue through July and August, with several extending their season into the fall.
