Hatteras Island’s vibrant arts community will take center stage on Friday, September 18, 2026, when the Rock The Cape Gallery Tour returns for a full day of art, music, shopping, demonstrations, refreshments and more.
The self-guided gallery tour will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., giving residents and visitors the opportunity to make their way down Hatteras Island while discovering the talented artists, galleries and creative businesses that make the island’s arts community so special.
With 10 participating galleries plus the island’s only bookstore, Rock The Cape is the perfect excuse to grab a few friends, jump in the car and spend the day exploring Hatteras Island — all while supporting local artists and small businesses.
Each stop along the tour will offer something a little different, from live music and artist demonstrations to make-and-take projects, refreshments, special sales and opportunities to meet local artists and authors.

Pea Island Art Gallery – Salvo

Meet the artist, enjoy live music and take part in a wine tasting.
Red Drum Pottery and Paintings – Frisco
Visitors can enjoy yaupon tea, freshly baked bread and live music while exploring the gallery.
The Blue Lagoon – Frisco
The Blue Lagoon will feature live music, opportunities to meet an artist, seafood, wine and chocolate.
Family Jewels – Hatteras
Enjoy live music, meet an artist and sip on mimosas while browsing the gallery.
Blue Pelican Gallery Gifts & Yarn – Hatteras
The gallery will offer a special sale along with light refreshments.
