The Pine Burr Market in Hatteras Village has announced a schedule change for the remainder of its summer season, moving its weekly market from Saturday afternoons to Friday mornings beginning this week.
Organizers said the market will now be open every Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Labor Day, replacing its previous Saturday schedule.
According to the announcement, the change comes after discussions with both vendors and customers, with organizers citing cooler morning temperatures and a more traditional market schedule as the primary reasons for the adjustment.
“It’s been a great season so far, and we look forward to the rest,” the update stated, adding that the market still plans to operate through Labor Day before hosting occasional pop-up markets later in the year.
The Pine Burr Market opened earlier this summer on the site of the former Pine Burr gas station in the heart of Hatteras Village.
Founded by Tucker Paddock and his family, the market was created as a community gathering place featuring local artists, makers, crafters and vendors while honoring the history of the longtime village landmark.
The market is located next to the Blue Pelican Gallery and across from Midgett Realty and the Hatteras Volunteer Fire Department.
Organizers are also seeking additional vendors to participate in the Friday markets and said anyone interested in setting up should contact the Pine Burr Market through its social media pages.
